"Reading in the Community" by Noelle Nichols

I started volunteering at The Children’s Center this past May 2017.  I read to preschool through kindergarten students every Tuesday and Thursday. The kids really enjoy it. I get the payment in my heart, where it really counts. It really feels great. The kids made thank-you cards for Kiesha, my support staff, and me.

I’ve read books like “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” by Eric Carle and123” by Keith Baker. The kids even hugged Kiesha and me. The feeling I get from reading to the kids is heart-warming. Yesterday Kiesha and I went to the library to check out books to read to the kids. The books I checked out were: “Red, A Crayon Story” by Michael Hall, “Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf” by Lois Ehlert, and “Holey Moley” by Lois Ehlert.

Noelle Nichols currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Enrichment Center.
