Pottery With a Purpose

At The Enrichment Center, our participants and staff care deeply about helping out in the community. We help by volunteering regularly at a variety of local nonprofit organizations, and by donating our artwork for special community events. The Enrichment Center has a longstanding tradition of helping Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC by donating pottery for their annual Empty Bowls event. For Empty Bowls 2018 we donated 20 pottery bowls, plus a few of our one-of-a-kind garden gnomes for the silent auction.

For artist Sue DeHart, pottery is one of her favorite classes – “It’s good for my hands,” says Sue, “And I  love to paint.” Sue creates a variety of pottery pieces, like fairy houses and gnomes and bowls to help the food bank. “I like to help in any way I can.”

We help because we can, and this is what we can do to help. What can you do?
