My Turn Senior Program was very busy the last few months! Several participants competed in the Senior Games in May. June brought an exciting change, as they partnered with the Advanced Exercise class for fellowship and delicious Japanese food, prepared by Lifeskills instructor Rekiko. It was delicious!
My Turn participants had a great time getting to know new friends at BB&T while they were visiting in June for the Lighthouse Project. They brought all kinds of arts and crafts supplies, including beads, which everyone knows is top on the list of favorite activities for the group! In July, they attended at movie at Marketplace Cinema and had fun socializing with peers at the Accessiblity Festival. They also continued with tehir usual monthly activities, such as bowling at Creekside Lanes, weekly cooking lessons, arts and crafts, and visits with their friends at Amos Cottage.
My Turn was thrilled to welcome its newest participant Debra, and her Direct Support Professional Nedrea. We have all enjoyed getting to know them both! Of course, we all miss Asheena Love, who has left the Center for new opportunities but we welcome Carla Green, My Turn's new Program Manager, who we know will continue to do great things for the group!
