Furnishings Re-imagined

The Enrichment Center, located in Winston-Salem, helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop life skills, social skills, and job skills through an arts-based program that stresses creativity and collaboration.

In October, artists from The Enrichment Center displayed their recent creative work in the International Buyers Center at the High Point Market. The High Point Market is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point every six months.

This opportunity was made possible by The Enrichment Center’s long-term partnership with the Phillips Collection, an award-winning organic contemporary furnishings company. Jason Phillips, Vice President and Creative Director, currently serves on The Enrichment Center’s board of directors.

The Phillips Collection donates furniture, accessories and décor to The Enrichment Center, whose artists “re-imagine” the pieces in their own unique style using a variety of creative techniques. The original artwork is displayed at High Point Markets in the spring and fall, and later placed on exhibit in the Gateway Gallery at The Enrichment Center.

The artwork displayed this fall in High Point will return to Winston-Salem for The Enrichment Center’s first exhibit in 2018, Space and Beyond, opening at Gateway Gallery on January 26.
