The Culinary Arts and Intro to Kitchen classes took a very exciting field trip this semester to the Piedmont Regional Farmer's Market in Greensboro. Students were able to see, touch, smell and learn about the many different types of fruits and vegetables available there. The Culinary Arts class prepared snacks for the trip, which included a delicious trail mix! The students learned a lot on the trip about healthy meal choices and how to prepare healthy food in delicious ways!
Throughout the Spring 2015 semester, the Culinary Arts class has prepared food for 9 events in 3 months! To say they have been extremely busy is an understatement! Students also enjoyed working with several volunteers from BB&T. They prepared a healthy fruit bar for staff, students and all of our special guests from BB&T.
Students in the Intro to Kitchen class had a great semester, learning skills that will help them become more independent in the kitchen! The highlight of the semester was a very fun field trip for lunch to the Lighthouse Restaurant in downtown Winston-Salem. What a treat!
I continue to be very proud of all that they have accomplished and look forward to another great semester!
